Which submarine cable systems land in both of two countries?
What this tool shows
Pick two countries and this looks through the 168 cable systems in the dataset for any that have a mapped landing point in both. That tells you the two countries are joined by a continuous piece of physical infrastructure.
It does not tell you how traffic between them actually flows. Most international traffic crosses several cable systems in sequence, hops through exchange points in third countries, and takes a path chosen by BGP and commercial peering rather than by the shortest cable.
Why a pair might show nothing
An empty result usually means no single system lands in both countries, which is normal, and the tool then shows the countries they both reach. It can also mean OpenStreetMap has not mapped the relevant cable yet. Neither is evidence that the two countries are poorly connected.
Data source
Cable routes, names, operators and landing stations come from OpenStreetMap, licensed under the ODbL. Cable lengths, ready-for-service years, owners and official websites come from Wikidata (CC0). Landing point cities and countries were resolved with Nominatim, and the country outlines on the globe are Natural Earth (public domain).
Nothing on these pages is estimated, generated or filled in. Where a source does not state a value, the page says Data unavailable.

This dataset is rebuilt periodically from the sources above. It is not live, and it does not report cable faults or outages.
