About AT&T
AT&T sells fiber, DSL and fixed wireless home internet in the United States, alongside its mobile network. Fiber and copper fail in different ways: a cut fiber feeder takes out a whole area, while an old copper pair usually affects one address.
A fault at home, or a wider problem?
On AT&T fiber the gateway's broadband light should be green. If mobile data on an AT&T phone works and the home gateway does not, the home line is the part that failed.
The connection box on this page only checks the path from your browser to this server. It does not log into AT&T and it does not claim to probe their network. When you want a number for your own line, use the internet speed test.
How the status on this page is calculated
10 reports in 15 minutes, or 20 in an hour, is shown as user reports of an outage. 4 in 15 minutes, or 8 in an hour, is shown as possible problems. Anything less is "a few reports". Zero reports is not a promise that the service is working. There is no invented baseline. Notes are shown as written, after control characters are removed. They are not checked against AT&T.

Questions
Is AT&T down right now?
This page does not start with an answer. The status line is computed only from problems visitors report here over the last 24 hours. No reports means this site has not heard anything, which is not the same as AT&T confirming that the service is up. The company's own page is https://www.att.com/.
How many reports count as an AT&T outage?
10 reports in 15 minutes, or 20 in an hour, is shown as user reports of an outage. 4 in 15 minutes, or 8 in an hour, is shown as possible problems. Anything less is "a few reports". Zero reports is not a promise that the service is working. There is no invented baseline.
What if only my AT&T connection is affected?
On AT&T fiber the gateway's broadband light should be green. If mobile data on an AT&T phone works and the home gateway does not, the home line is the part that failed. A speed test on this site measures the line from your device. A failed test on one network, with another network still working, points at that line or at Wi-Fi rather than at every AT&T customer.
