About Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 includes Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and OneDrive in the cloud. Microsoft's service health page lists them separately. Teams calls can fail while Outlook still sends mail. A desktop app that will not start offline is not an outage.

A fault at home, or a wider problem?

Name the product in the report: Teams, Outlook, or OneDrive. Check status.cloud.microsoft if you can. If only the desktop app fails and the website works, reinstall later; it is not evidence of an outage.

The connection box on this page only checks the path from your browser to this server. It does not log into Microsoft 365 and it does not claim to probe their network. When you want a number for your own line, use the internet speed test.

How the status on this page is calculated

10 reports in 15 minutes, or 20 in an hour, is shown as user reports of an outage. 4 in 15 minutes, or 8 in an hour, is shown as possible problems. Anything less is "a few reports". Zero reports is not a promise that the service is working. There is no invented baseline. Notes are shown as written, after control characters are removed. They are not checked against Microsoft 365.

Questions

Is Microsoft 365 down right now?

This page does not start with an answer. The status line is computed only from problems visitors report here over the last 24 hours. No reports means this site has not heard anything, which is not the same as Microsoft 365 confirming that the service is up. The company's own page is https://status.cloud.microsoft/.

How many reports count as an Microsoft 365 outage?

10 reports in 15 minutes, or 20 in an hour, is shown as user reports of an outage. 4 in 15 minutes, or 8 in an hour, is shown as possible problems. Anything less is "a few reports". Zero reports is not a promise that the service is working. There is no invented baseline.

What if only my Microsoft 365 connection is affected?

Name the product in the report: Teams, Outlook, or OneDrive. Check status.cloud.microsoft if you can. If only the desktop app fails and the website works, reinstall later; it is not evidence of an outage. A speed test on this site measures the line from your device. A failed test on one network, with another network still working, points at that line or at Wi-Fi rather than at every Microsoft 365 customer.
